I have been photographing this boy since he was in his mother’s belly, and am always genuinely happy to have another opportunity to have him in front of my camera. He is six now, which means he’s perfected the cheezy camera grin, and after twenty minutes of photographing him I didn’t see a sincere or worthy portrait in the bunch. So I was grateful when he offered me this brief soft expression, revealing once again the sweet and gentle boy I’ve been privileged to know and photograph over the years.
