puppy with bone walks boy earth as poetry

So he’s a baby and not actually singing the blues, he was *kind* of singing, and there is a rather strong component of blues going on here, in this rare for me color image. And how clever or completely accurate do these subject titles need to be anyway?

As someone who specializes in children’s portraiture, I feel I’m always walking a fine line between wanting to make images that please my clients and reflect the inherent beauty of their child, while at the same time not wanting to exploit that cuteness. What I mean to say is that it’s a given that little kids and babies are just plain adorable, most especially to their parents, however to my way of thinking a photographer’s work isn’t to state the obvious as much as it is to hint at the finely profound. Sometimes I find that overt cuteness almost gets in the way of this endeavor.

Brightly colored cheerfulness certainly has its value though, and whose day wouldn’t be gladdened to have a sweet little face such as this smiling in their direction? And whose photoblog might benefit from a bit of animated vibrancy as well? Ü
